Learn more about Actinic Keratosis Treatments
Actinic keratosis appear as rough, red, sandpaper-like patches on the skin in sun exposed areas such as the face, scalp and arms. They are much more common in fair skinned individuals and are the result of years of exposure to the sun’s ultraviolet rays. Actinic keratosis are considered precursors to squamous cell carcinoma. They are most often treated with liquid nitrogen, but other treatments include creams and laser.
