Learn more about Rosacea

Rosacea is a skin condition of the face usually seen in adults. Patients with rosacea may have both acne bumps as well as prominent redness and blood vessels on the nose and cheeks. Rosacea is probably due at least in part to genetics, but it can be worsened by excess sun exposure, alcohol, caffeine and spicy foods. Rosacea is treated most often with topical and oral antibiotics which are particularly helpful for the acne bumps. Lasers are the treatment of choice for the redness and spider veins of rosacea.
